Uganda, April 13 -- Hunfreds of faithful and dignitaries gathered at St Nicholas Orthodox Cathedral Namungoona to celebrate the 71st birthday of Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II, with messages centred on unity, leadership and good governance.

Early arrivals streamed into the cathedral in Kampala from as early as 6am under tight security, with turnout swelling through the morning as religious and cultural leaders took their seats.

At around 10:45am, Buganda Queen (Nnaabagereka) Sylvia Nagginda arrived alongside kingdom prime minister (Katikkiro) Charles Peter Mayiga and were received by Orthodox Archbishop Jeronymos Muzeeyi, who led them on a guided tour of the cathedral.
