Uganda, April 24 -- Police in the East Kyoga Region Friday morning arrested two more suspects in connection with the aggravated robbery and murder of a businesswoman in Soroti City, bringing the total number of suspects in custody to 13.

Patricia Kokunda, 36, a mobile money operator, was shot dead on April 3, 2026, while traveling in a commuter taxi to Ocorimongin.

According to preliminary accounts, assailants intercepted the taxi, pulled her out and shot her multiple times before fleeing with her belongings. She was rushed to Soroti Regional Referral Hospital while bleeding profusely but was pronounced dead on arrival.
