Uganda, April 28 -- Uganda has enough fuel reserves to last nearly three months, the government said on Tuesday, seeking to calm fears of an immediate supply crisis amid rising fuel costs linked to conflict in the Middle East.
Energy Minister Ruth Nankabirwa said the country has secured "stable and secure supplies" of petrol, diesel and jet fuel, with additional shipments already entering the market.
Petrol and diesel prices have risen by at least Shs200 at most fuel stations nationwide over the past two weeks. In some upcountry locations, prices have spiked by more than Shs1,000.
