Sri Lanka, Nov. 5 -- A body of a 38-year-old woman was found hacked to death with a knife inside her house in the Pussellawa Police Division, while a man she was planning to marry was later found hanging behind the house.

The deceased was identified as Dilani Shalika Dayananda.

Police said they received information about the murder through the 119 emergency hotline.

Initial investigations revealed that the woman, who had separated from her first husband, had been living with a man identified as Saman, a resident of Kurunegala with plans to marry him.

The man was subsequently found hanging behind the house.

The circumstances leading to the two deaths is yet to be established.

Pussellawa Police are conducting further investigations....
