Sri Lanka, Oct. 9 -- A special meeting between representatives of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) and the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) was held this morning (9) at the SLFP headquarters.

The meeting was attended by SLPP General Secretary Sagara Kariyawasam and SLFP President Nimal Siripala de Silva.

According to political sources, discussions focused on the current political situation in the country and the parties' future course of action.

Representing the SLFP, Mahinda Amaraweera, Lasantha Alagiyawanna and Duminda Silva attended the meeting.

The SLPP delegation included Dr. Ramesh Pathirana, Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena and Sanjeeva Edirimanna.
