Sri Lanka, March 7 -- The Meteorology Department has issued a warm weather advisory for several provinces and districts across Sri Lanka, warning that the heat index is likely to rise to caution levels on Sunday (08).
In a bulletin issued at 3.30 p.m. on Saturday, the department said the heat index - the temperature felt by the human body - is expected to increase up to the "Caution level" in some areas of the Sabaragamuwa Province, North Western Province and North Central Province.
The advisory also applies to the districts of Colombo, Gampaha, Vavuniya, Mannar, Hambantota and Monaragala.
