Warm weather advisory issued for four provinces
Sri Lanka, Oct. 2 -- The Department of Meteorology has issued a warm weather advisory for the Northern, North-Central and Eastern provinces and Monaragala District, warning that the heat index is likely to increase to "Caution" level in some areas during the daytime.
The advisory, issued by the Natural Hazards Early Warning Centre at 4.00 p.m. today (2), will remain valid until October 3.
The Meteorology Department urged the public in the affected areas to remain prepared and take precautions against the increased heat during the daytime.
