Sri Lanka, Aug. 4 -- The Department of Meteorology has warned that sea areas off the coasts from Puttalam to Pottuvil via Colombo, Galle and Hambantota will be very rough at times, with very strong gusty winds of 60 to 70 kmph.

Issuing a "Take Action" advisory, the department urged naval and fishing communities not to venture into these sea areas until further notice due to the hazardous conditions.

Those already engaged in fishing and other naval activities in the affected sea areas have been advised to remain vigilant and closely monitor future weather forecasts and advisories issued by the Department of Meteorology.
