Sri Lanka, Feb. 27 -- The validity period of the footwear gift voucher programme for selected school students has been extended.

The Education Ministry said the programme provides gift vouchers worth Rs. 3,000 to selected school students, as well as lay and ordained students of Pirivenas and Seelamathas for the year 2026.

Accordingly, although the vouchers were originally due to expire on February 28, authorities have extended their validity until March 15, enabling beneficiaries to redeem them within the revised timeframe.
