Sri Lanka, Nov. 2 -- A United National Party (UNP) and Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) alliance does not spell victory, former President Ranil Wickremesinghe said.

"Some anticipate that a UNP-SJB alliance would be a political success, as such an alliance would win future elections. Such an anticipation could be wrong, as politics has changed today," Wickremesinghe told party members.

"One has to look into the thinking patterns of Millennial and Gen Z generations. I have had discussions with the members of these generations. They are of the opinion that the party activities should be carried out online. Also, the days of preparing election manifestos for five-year terms will soon be gone.
