Sri Lanka, Nov. 5 -- For nearly two years, supporters of both the United National Party (UNP) and the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) have been eagerly anticipating the formation of an alliance between the two parties.

In this context, remarks made over the weekend by UNP Leader and former President Ranil Wickremesinghe regarding alliance-building would have undoubtedly left the supporters of both parties stunned and disappointed.
