Union urges railways to withdraw legal action against SLRSMU Chief Secretary
Sri Lanka, Aug. 26 -- The Joint Development Officers' Union has urged the General Manager of Sri Lanka Railways to immediately withdraw the decision to initiate legal action against the Chief Secretary of the Sri Lanka Railways Station Masters' Union (SLRSMU) for publicly highlighting shortcomings in the administration of the Railway Department.
Meanwhile, the SLRSMU has called for an urgent investigation into the recent breakdowns of locomotive engines, alleging that the current Railway General Manager should also be among those scrutinised over the incidents.
