Sri Lanka, Sept. 29 -- The Colombo High Court today ordered the acquittal and release of former Minister Udaya Gammanpila from charges of criminal breach of trust involving the alleged unlawful use of shares belonging to an Australian national businessman, valued at Rs. 21 million.

The order was delivered by Colombo High Court Judge Nadee Aparna Suwandurugoda following a lengthy trial.

Delivering the judgment, the Judge stated that the charges brought against the accused by the prosecution had not been proved beyond reasonable doubt.
