Sri Lanka, Aug. 23 -- Two suspects have been arrested with more than 1,044 kilograms of cannabis during two separate raids in Gomagala.

Acting on a tip-off, officers from the Walana Central Anti-Corruption Strike Force conducted the raids.

Police seized 1,044 kilograms and 180 grams of cannabis along with a cannabis plantation containing 54,096 plants.

The suspects, aged 30 and 38, are residents of Etambalawa.

The suspects and the seized cannabis have been handed over to the Hambegamuwa Police Station, which is conducting further investigations.
