Triple Elimination Programme launched in maternity clinics
Sri Lanka, June 1 -- The Ministry of Health has announced the nationwide rollout of its Triple Elimination programme across all maternity clinics.
From June 1, routine blood screening for pregnant mothers will be expanded to include testing for Hepatitis B, alongside existing screening for HIV and Syphilis.
The Ministry said the initiative builds on Sri Lanka's successful implementation of the Dual Elimination programme, which focused on preventing mother-to-child transmission of HIV and Syphilis.
