Sri Lanka, Sept. 28 -- Three suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of two individuals in Baddegama yesterday, Police said.

The suspects were arrested last evening in the Halpathota area for allegedly aiding and abetting the crime. Police also recovered 16.17 grams of heroin and a car from their possession.

The arrests were made during an investigation launched by the Elpitiya Division Crimes Investigation Bureau after a group travelling in a car allegedly opened fire at another group travelling in a three-wheeler in the Halpathota area of the Baddegama Police Division.

The suspects, aged 22 and 33, are residents of Kahawatta, Pallebedda and Hikkaduwa.
