Sri Lanka, Sept. 15 -- The 18th BRICS summit held at New Delhi on September 12-13 managed to resolve sharp internal contradictions and produced a joint declaration, which was the best that could be, given the complexities of international politics, individual members' concerns and ambitions, and above all the need to keep the organisation together in the face of unprecedented challenges from the United States under the mercurial President Trump.
