Sri Lanka, April 28 -- A tense situation arose during a protest outside the residence of Treasury Secretary Harshana Suriyapperuma today.

A group of protestors led by the New People's Front leader Sugeeshwara Bandara staged a protest outside Suriyapperuma's residence calling for his resignation over the missing USD 2.5 million and they had come under attack by another group during the protest.

Police brought the situation under control.
