Sri Lanka, April 9 -- A sudden heavy downpour accompanied by strong winds struck the Balagolla area in the Pallekele Police Division, causing several trees to fall.
A tree collapsed onto a three-wheeler traveling along the Teldeniya-Kandy road, leaving one person seriously injured.
The individual was immediately rushed to the Kandy National Hospital by a "Suwa Seriya" ambulance.
Traffic along the affected roads was disrupted for a considerable period due to the fallen trees.
