Sri Lanka, April 23 -- The rapid decline in water levels at the Maussakelle Reservoir has exposed remnants of the old Maskeliya town, long submerged beneath its waters.
As the reservoir recedes, several structures have re-emerged, including a Hindu temple, a Buddha statue, an old Bo tree, and a bridge that were once part of the town.
An official attached to the reservoir said that even with possible evening rainfall, water levels are unlikely to rise significantly in the short term.
