Sri Lanka, July 1 -- The state of emergency imposed following the Cyclone Ditwah disaster will not be extended beyond this month, Cabinet Spokesman and Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa said today.

Speaking at the post-Cabinet media briefing, he said the government has decided to allow the emergency regulations to lapse at the end of the month as the situation has improved.
