Sri Lanka, April 8 -- SriLankan Airlines has alerted the public to a serious rise in scam activities targeting passengers and potential customers through impersonation of airline staff.
The airline said it has identified incidents where individuals are contacting people via WhatsApp and phone calls while posing as official representatives. During these interactions, scammers attempt to trick recipients into installing mobile applications, sharing their screens, or disclosing sensitive information such as one-time passwords (OTPs), banking PINs, credit card details, and other confidential financial data.
