India, May 23 -- The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Kathmandu celebrated International Tea Day 2026 under the theme "159 Years of Excellence in Ceylon Tea" at the official residence of the Ambassador in Kathmandu.

The event brought together representatives from the Government of Nepal, tea industry stakeholders and distinguished guests to commemorate the heritage and global reputation of Ceylon Tea.

The programme commenced with the arrival and registration of guests, followed by the formal opening ceremony and keynote address by Sri Lanka's Ambassador to Nepal, Ruwanthi Delpitiya.
