Sri Lanka, July 30 -- Sri Lanka's Ambassador to the United States, Mahinda Samarasinghe, said diplomatic cooperation between Sri Lanka and the United States has grown stronger than ever during his tenure, resulting in significant progress in the country's economic development.

He made the remarks during a visit to the Maryland International Buddhist Temple on July 28, where he received blessings from the Chief Judicial Sanghanayake of the United States, Most Venerable Katugastota Uparathana Nayaka Thero.

Addressing the gathering, Ambassador Samarasinghe said the United States now holds a very positive perception of Sri Lanka and has extended assistance in several areas supporting the country's economic development.
