Srilanka, Aug. 16 -- Sri Lanka has expressed deep sorrow over the the loss of lives, injuries and devastation caused by the earthquake and aftershocks that struck Flores Island, Indonesia.

Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath said Sri Lanka stands in solidarity with the Government and people of Indonesia during this difficult time.

"It is with deep sorrow that I note the loss of lives, injuries and devastation caused by the earthquake and aftershocks that struck Flores Island, Indonesia.

"My deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their loved ones, and wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured. My thoughts are also with those still missing and their families," he said in a post on X.
