Sri Lanka, Sept. 30 -- Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath met with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA81).

In a message posted on X, Minister Herath said the discussions focused on avenues to further strengthen bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and the UAE.

Key areas discussed included trade, investment, tourism and labour cooperation, as well as the welfare of the Sri Lankan community living and working in the UAE.
