Sri Lanka, Thailand to sign agreements on labour cooperation
Sri Lanka, Sept. 8 -- The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a proposal to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Labour Cooperation and a supplementary agreement governing the employment of Sri Lankan workers in Thailand for a period of five years.
The agreements are intended to establish a structured framework for cooperation between Sri Lanka and Thailand on labour migration, following bilateral discussions between the two countries.
Under the proposed arrangements, the competent authorities of both countries will establish formal mechanisms to facilitate the transparent and efficient recruitment and deployment of Sri Lankan workers to Thailand.
