Sri Lanka, Thailand move to expedite visa-free travel for ordinary passport holders
Sri Lanka, Sept. 16 -- Sri Lanka and Thailand have agreed to further strengthen bilateral relations, with discussions focusing on expediting arrangements for a visa exemption for ordinary passport holders.
The agreement was reached during a meeting between Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Minister Vijitha Herath and Thailand's Acting Foreign Minister Sarun Charoensuwan in Bangkok.
The proposed visa exemption is expected to facilitate travel and tourism while promoting greater people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.
During the meeting, the two sides also discussed expanding cooperation in trade, investment, tourism, labour mobility, education, maritime security and cultural exchanges.
