Sri Lanka, Sept. 18 -- Sri Lanka and India have stormed into the women's cricket semi-finals at the Asian Games after securing convincing victories over Malaysia and Japan respectively.

Sri Lanka cruised to an 86-run win over Malaysia, posting 160/4 before bowling their opponents out for a below-par total. Chamari Athapaththu top-scored with 63 off 37 balls, while Kavisha Dilhari contributed an unbeaten 44 and claimed two wickets.

India, meanwhile, crushed hosts Japan by eight wickets after dismissing them for just 57. Sree Charani starred with the ball, taking 4/10, before Shafali Verma smashed an unbeaten 40 off 15 deliveries to seal the victory inside five overs.
