Sri Lanka, June 5 -- The Ministry of Health has announced the implementation of a special dengue mosquito control programme on June 8, 9, and 10, in light of the rising spread of the disease in Sri Lanka.

According to the plan, the programme will be carried out across 74 Medical Officer of Health (MOH) divisions in 14 districts, focusing particularly on areas identified as high-risk zones for dengue transmission.

The National Dengue Control Unit (NDCU) stated that assistance from the Police and the Tri-Forces will be deployed to support field operations during the campaign. Authorities will also give special attention to locations considered highly vulnerable to mosquito breeding.
