SriLanka, April 12 -- A special transport service plan has been launched to provide efficient travel facilities to the public during the festive season, with both long-distance and short-distance bus services operating from Colombo.

The program, implemented under the guidance of the Ministry of Transport, Highways and Urban Development, will be in effect from April 10 to 21.

Under the supervision of the National Transport Commission, buses operated by the Sri Lanka Transport Board and the Road Passenger Transport Authority have been deployed to run around the clock. As part of the initiative, the SLTB has added 1,500 extra buses to support increased passenger demand.
