Sri Lanka, Sept. 10 -- Speaker Jagath Wickramaratne today threatened to remove MP Dayasiri Jayasekera from the chamber after the latter protested against a ruling by the Speaker.

MP Jayasekera protested against the Speaker's decision to first examine a privilege matter that he intended to raise in Parliament.

The Speaker said he had to examine the privilege matter before allowing the MP to raise it in the House.

However, Jayasekera questioned the Speaker's decision, arguing that such a procedure had not been followed in the past.
