Sri Lanka, July 22 -- Some Presidential palaces have been converted into court houses, while others will be used for economically viable purposes, Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya told Parliament today.

Responding to a question raised by MP Chaminda Wijesiri, the Prime Minister said Rs. 13.9 million had been spent on maintaining eight Presidential palaces during 2025 and the first six months of this year.

"The Government has to spend funds to maintain Presidential palaces until they are put to economically viable use," the Prime Minister added.
