Srilanka, Sept. 12 -- The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) "Janasatana" public rally is being held in Anuradhapura today, with several former Ministers and MPs attending the gathering. Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is also expected to attend the rally.

A large number of SLPP supporters have gathered at the venue, while party organisers and former Ministers and MPs are addressing the gathering.

The opening speech was delivered by the SLPP organiser for the Mihintale electorate, who criticised the Government over its handling of economic issues and alleged failure to address the concerns of farmers and other sections of the public.
