Sri Lanka, Sept. 17 -- The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) has arrested Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) member and former National Transport Commission (NTC) Chairman Renuka Perera over corruption allegations involving bus permits for the Southern Expressway.

According to the CIABOC, the investigation centres on accusations that Perera had illegally issued 56 Southern Expressway passenger service permits to third parties without following statutory procedures outlined in the National Transport Commission Act No. 37 of 1991.
