Sri Lanka, Aug. 27 -- Sri Lanka stands at 120th among 130 countries surveyed in a global minimum wage comparison published by "Visual Capitalist" with its purchasing power-adjusted monthly minimum wage estimated at $200.

The ranking, based on 2024 data from the International Labour Organization, compares minimum wages after adjusting for purchasing power parity, or PPP. The adjustment reflects differences in living costs and what workers can buy with their earnings in each country.

Switzerland stands at No. 1 with a PPP-adjusted monthly minimum wage of $3,804, although its minimum wages are determined regionally rather than through a nationwide wage floor.
