SriLanka, Oct. 8 -- Former First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa, who is currently in remand custody, will not be taken to a private hospital in Colombo today (8), the Department of Prisons said.

Prisons Media Spokesperson and Commissioner of Prisons Senaka Pallethanna said Shiranthi Rajapaksa was examined by a specialist doctor at the prison hospital today.

Following the examination, the specialist doctor had recommended that she be taken to the National Eye Hospital in Colombo tomorrow (9) for further examination by a specialist.

Accordingly, arrangements will be made for her to be taken to the National Eye Hospital tomorrow, the Prisons Department said.
