Sri Lanka, April 18 -- A video circulating on social media showing a woman being brutally assaulted in Moragahahena has sparked public concern, with police confirming that a suspect has been arrested.
According to the Sri Lanka Police, the incident had occurred after the victim had requested her neighbour to reduce the noise of firecrackers, which she said was disturbing the dogs at her residence. Following an investigation, Moragahahena Police arrested the suspect, a 54-year-old resident of Velmilla, after recording the victim's statement.
The suspect was produced before the Horana Magistrate's Court on April 17 and was remanded until April 24.
