Sri Lanka, Aug. 7 -- Several senior police officers, including Senior Deputy Inspectors General of Police (SDIGs) and Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs), have been transferred in a major reshuffle initiated by the Police Headquarters.

Under the transfers, SDIG Sampath Kumara has been moved from the Special Bureau to the Eastern Province.

SDIG Kithsiri Jayalath, who previously served as the Senior DIG in charge of the Southern Province, has been appointed as the Senior DIG in charge of the Sabaragamuwa Province.

SDIG Waruna Jayasundara has been assigned additional duties as Director of Training and Advanced Training, while continuing his responsibilities at the Children and Women's Bureau.
