Sri Lanka, Sept. 24 -- Security has been tightened in and around the Parliamentary complex as Parliament debates the 22nd Amendment to the Constitution today.

A heavy police presence was observed at Polduwa Junction and near the main entrance to the Parliamentary complex.

The increased security measures come amid a protest organised by the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) against the proposed 22nd Amendment.
