Schools targeted in nationwide dengue Control drive today
Sri Lanka, June 18 -- In line with the ongoing National Dengue Control Week, authorities have launched a nationwide dengue prevention programme today (18), focusing on schools and other educational institutions as efforts continue to curb the worsening dengue situation across the country.
The programme covers government and private schools, pre-schools and all other educational institutions, with inspections and mosquito control activities also being carried out in the surrounding areas to eliminate potential breeding sites.
The National Dengue Control Week, which began on June 15, was introduced in response to the heightened dengue risk prevailing across the country.
