Sri Lanka, Sept. 9 -- Opposition MP Chamara Sampath Dassanayake in Parliament today questioned whether there is a move to collect commissions from transactions connected with expressways.

"The President has said only local funds will be used for three expressway projects. However, one has to spend dollars to purchase raw materials such as tar. One wonders as to who is going to get the commissions out of these transactions. Are these funds going to be credited to the Pelawatte account? Funds in the Pelawatte funds is said to be higher than those of the EPF and ETF," the MP said.
