Rs. 80,000 bill puts Aluthgama station in the dark
Sri Lanka, June 30 -- The electricity supply to Aluthgama Railway Station is set to be disconnected after the station reportedly failed to settle an outstanding electricity bill of nearly Rs. 80,000.
According to reports, the relevant authorities have decided to disconnect the power supply due to the non-payment of the bill.
The incident has raised concerns over administrative lapses within the Railway Department. In the past, telephone connections at several railway stations were disconnected due to similar administrative shortcomings.
