Sri Lanka, June 5 -- The Illegal Assets Investigation Division has launched an investigation into a suspected drug trafficking operation following a complaint referred by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) involving a female suspect residing in Colombo 14.

According to investigators, the woman and her husband are alleged to have amassed significant wealth and property through large-scale drug trafficking activities.

During the probe, authorities uncovered evidence indicating that the suspect's husband from her second marriage had acquired luxury real estate using funds believed to have been generated through illicit means.
