Sri Lanka, July 24 -- Police have freezed Rs. 150 million worth of assets said to have been illegally accumulated by two individuals in Dewanigoda, Rathgama.

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) launched an initial investigation into a complaint that a resident of the Dewinigoda area in Rathgama had accumulated assets using money earned through organised crime and drug trafficking.

Facts regarding this complaint were accordingly reported to the Magistrate's Court of Galle.

Based on the facts revealed during the investigation, further inquiries were referred to the Illegal Assets Investigation Division, which subsequently conducted an investigation.
