Sri Lanka, Nov. 3 -- The Cabinet has approved the award of a Rs. 111.1 million contract to supply 1.1 million bags of medicines used in the treatment of kidney patients undergoing haemodialysis.

The contract has been awarded to Infuxion Lanka (Private) Limited, Sri Lanka, the lowest responsive bidder. The manufacturer of the medicines is Peritone Health Sdn Bhd, Malaysia.

The medicines are used to remove waste products and excess fluids from the bodies of patients suffering from acute or chronic kidney failure.

Two bids were received following an invitation for bids under the International Competitive Procurement Procedure.
