Sri Lanka, Oct. 6 -- New Democratic Front (NDF) MPs Rohitha Abeygunawardhane and Anuradha Jayaratne have exchanged their memberships in the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) and the Committee on Public Accounts (COPA).

Speaker Jagath Wickramaratne announced in Parliament that Abeygunawardhane had resigned from the COPA, while Jayaratne had been appointed to fill the resulting vacancy.

The Speaker further stated that Jayaratne had resigned from the COPE, with Abeygunawardhane subsequently appointed to fill the vacancy. According to the Speaker, the changes were approved by the Committee on Parliamentary Business on September 25 in accordance with the Standing Orders of Parliament.
