Sri Lanka, April 6 -- Rishini Weeraratne, Editor of 'The Sun', was honoured with the Platinum Excellence Award for Media Influence, Storytelling, and Women's Empowerment at the Platinum Excellence Awards 2026, held at Cinnamon Life, Colombo.

The award was accepted on her behalf by her mother, Sharika Weeraratne, as Rishini is currently overseas.
