Sri Lanka, April 6 -- Following the recent rise in domestic LP gas prices, the All Ceylon Restaurant Owners' Association has announced that the prices of several popular food items, including rice and curry packets, fried rice and kottu, will be increased by Rs. 20.
However, the Association said the price of short eats will be reduced by Rs. 10 due to the decrease in coconut oil prices.
Chairman of the Association, Harshana Rukshan, said the new prices will come into effect from midnight today (6).
He noted that the price revision was unavoidable due to increasing cooking gas costs, which have significantly impacted restaurant operating expenses.
