Sri Lanka, July 8 -- Rear Admiral Ravindra Tissera has been appointed as the new Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Navy by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake. The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Damian Fernando, formally handed over the letter of appointment to Rear Admiral Tissera at the Navy Headquarters on Monday (7) and extended his best wishes.

A distinguished alumnus of St. Peter's College, Colombo, Rear Admiral Tissera joined the Executive Branch of the Sri Lanka Navy as an Officer Cadet of the 10th Intake of the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence Academy (KDA) in 1992.
